Elements of Art 5th-6th

My name is Carissa Parr and I have been a homeschooling parent for 13 years. I have been teaching art in the community for several years, and I'm excited and thankful for the opportunity to teach at CHSEL.
Our 3rd-6th graders will be learning and identifying the 7 elements of art (line, color, shape, texture, form, value, space) along with the 7 principles of art (pattern, movement, unity, emphasis, rhythm, balance, contrast) through the use of acrylic, tempera, and watercolor paint, chalk, clay sculpture and 3D forms, oil pastel, and Kyrigami. We will be studying the works of Gaugin, Monet, Matisse, and contemporary artists such as Gina Lee Kim and Peter Anton. No supplies need to be purchased for this class as your supply fee will cover everything needed. The kids may want to bring an old shirt to keep clothes clean.
